How it works
Murder Mystery run times for a 7.00pm start:
This is a rough guide only and may alter depending on number of guests, start time, or how enthusiastic the guests are! Evenings are part improvised, part scripted and are able to fit in any performance space, large or small. 5.00pm Actors arrive, set up the performance space, and rehearse. 6.00pm Actors evening meal 7.00pm Welcome drinks. Characters mingle with guests setting the scene. Guests can speak to the characters about anything at all; the actors will not break character. 7.30pm Guests are invited to sit down for their evening meal. Before the starters are served, one of the characters gives a welcome toast and then drops down dead (insert gasp here). Clue packs are handed to each table with information on the characters. Each team is invited to don their detective caps in order to solve the foul crime they have just witnessed. 8.00pm During starters, the first piece of evidence is discovered and suspect number one is questioned. 8.15pm After starters, a second piece of evidence is found...you get the idea... 8.30pm Another scene is played out during the main course. 8.45pm Yet another scene takes place after the main course is cleared. 9.00pm This is the last chance for teams to ask their final questions to each character before answer the sheets are collected. 9.30pm During desserts/coffee, teams are invited to present their answers to the rest of the room before the actual answer is revealed and the murderer is discovered. Prizes, in the form of chocolates, and congratulations, in the form of clapping, is awarded to the winning team, who feel smug and self-satisfied. 10.00pm FINISH |
Q&As
Do I need to provide props?
Little Chico Productions are completely self-contained and do not require anything other than a small, comfortable, private space away from the performance area for the actors to store their personal belongings, change into costume and sit when not performing. No stage area is required; the scripted scenes take place in and around the guests’ dining tables and actors will mingle with guests in between scenes so all you need to do is sit back and enjoy the show.
